Design Studio Art Caprice offers widely customizable options for both interior and exterior products in a wide variety of sizes and colors. In order to meet the highest customer expectations, Design Studio Art Caprice manufactures all products as they are ordered. All products were designed and are made in Canada, using materials produced in the USA or Canada.
After an order is placed, if you have chosen a standard design, the artwork will be made as shown.
If your design is a custom order and you send us your own image to create a product from it, we have to make a vector file first.
Often, when our customers begin the process of submitting designs for laser cutting, we find that there is confusion regarding the type of art that we need to use for it. The confusion seems to center around Vector graphics files. Most people who are not professional graphic designers do not know what Vector art is. In the following graphic, we will show you the difference between Vector art and the other, more common type of computer graphic, Raster art:
You’ll notice how, in the Raster Art file, the edges of the art become distorted when the picture is enlarged. You’ll also notice how there are hundreds of shades in the Raster file, but only one shade in the Vector file.
Vector art commonly has the following file extensions: .ai, .pdf, .eps and .svg. However, just because a file is saved in one of these formats, does not mean that it is truly vector art. Sometimes, people open raster files in Adobe Illustrator, and re-save the file in a vector format, without recreating the art using the vector editing tools. Only art originally created in a vector-editing program is truly vector art.
So, when we receive your image to create a laser cut product, we hire a graphic designer to re-create your design as vector art. To do this the designer needs to draw your image with a pen tool and then convert it to image. This is expensive time dedicated work and Design Studio Art Caprice hired the most experienced and high-qualified professionals to do this work.
By ordering your product with other laser cut companies which you can find on the market, a small changes in the offered image will cost you starting from $20-$50. If you want to create a new design for your products, it will cost you from $150 up to $500, depending on how big and complicated your new design is. Design Studio Art Caprice will cover all these expenses and this expensive work is free for our valued customers.
2. LASER CUTTING
We put a selection of materials on the laser cutting machine and using advanced computer techniques we generate a pattern which leads a highly focused laser beam to burn the images through the material we use in extreme fine detail. The narrowest part of the focused beam is generally less than 0.004 inches (0.10 mm) in diameter. As the cut is made by the help of a laser beam, there is no direct contact of the work-piece with any cutting instrument, thereby eliminating the risk of material contamination.
In the production of most of our products we use a hydraulic press brake, a leading-edge piece of technology to form an edge in the perimeter of the panel that you use to simply bolt the panel for installation.
In comparison with other laser cut metal panel manufacturers, who use welding to prepare the panel for installation, our method not only saves time, but also gives your product a more sophisticated look because there is no worst weld line. In addition, forming also makes the metal panel extra durable.
Some of our products like Driveway Gates or Garden Gates require the welding. Welding can be done per product specifications.
5. HOT-DEEP GALVANIZING
Upon your request we can send your products like the Driveway Gates or Garden Gates for hot deep galvanizing.
Hot-Deep Galvanizing is the process of coating iron and steel with a layer of zinc by immersing the metal in a bath of molten zinc to prevent premature rust and corrosion.
6. POWDER COATING.
If your product does not require welding and hot-deep galvanizing, it usually requires to be painted. Before going to the next step, your product is quality checked for any defects in design, and then sent for powder coating.
What is Powder Coating?
Powder Coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a “skin".
Powder coated products are more resistant to diminished coating quality as a result of impact, moisture, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and other extreme weather conditions. In turn, this reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, abrasions, corrosion, fading, and other wear issues.
It’s tough. It looks great. And it lasts a long, long time. In addition to being durable, powder coating is an attractive choice due to environmental advantages.
Your product is prepared for shipping by UPS first wrapping it in cellophane to protect it from dust. Finally, your product is carefully packaged in a sturdy crate and banded. Larger orders are placed on pallets and banded for shipment.
